Get started

DataStep Studio runs in VS Code and talks to SAS through SASPy. Plan ten minutes for the first installation.

From nothing to your first run

  1. Install Java and PythonJava 8 or newer and Python 3.8 or newer, once. Java · Python
  2. Install the extensionExtensions view in VS Code, search DataStep Studio, Install. Details
  3. Check SetupCommand Palette, DataStep Studio: Check Setup: finds Java and Python and installs SASPy. Details
  4. Connect and runAdd New Connection Profile for SAS OnDemand or your SAS 9.4 server, open a .sas file, press F4. Details
